It’s that wonderful time of year – Spring! Warmer days and more sunshine are on the way, and with that comes Easter festivities. Whether you are planning a big to-do or keeping it small with friends or family, coming together for Easter is a great way to welcome the warm days ahead.
Easter Meal
A lot of prep can go into a delicious Easter meal, and make sure your kids help you prepare ahead of time! They can help you figure out what’s stocked in the pantry and fridge, and what you may need to go shopping for. They can also help you get all the nice dinnerware out of storage and polished to perfection! You can save some time by baking the day before the dinner, as most baked goods are still fresh the next day. Depending on the main attraction, you can soak meats in a marinade the day before as well, saving some time the day of and creating more flavorful meals the whole family will enjoy!
Egg Hunts
One of the biggest events of Easter is the egg hunt! Whether you want to do traditional eggs or not is your choice, as there can always be adjustments to that as well! If egg prices are a little too much for a proper egg hunt, you can always improvise! There are plenty of recipes out there to make egg-shaped goodies that look almost exactly the same as a hard-boiled egg! Some of the recipes use peanut butter and other ingredients to create an egg-shape, then you simply melt some baking chocolate and add coloring to create the soft, traditional spring colors. If you were hoping for a more traditional egg hunt with the eggs outdoors, you can even purchase wooden eggs from craft stores. These eggs are still the same size as traditional eggs, and you can have your kids help paint them before the hunt begins! There are plenty of possibilities to still hold an Easter egg hunt that doesn’t require breaking the bank either!
Getting Outdoors
With spring around the corner, the best Easter involves lots of outdoor activities. Whether you are planning an egg hunt or not, you can also include other outdoor games and activities for kids and adults! You can have water gun fights for your kids, and have water balloon fights as well. You can pin the tail on the donkey, play charades, or even toss a football around the backyard. Being out in the sun with friends and family, you’re guaranteed to have a great, wholesome Easter this spring!
