“Ignitia is a great resource for Christian families”
A Homeschool Mom Reviews Alpha Omega Homeschool Curriculum
Ignitia is an Alpha Omega online Christian homeschool curriculum designed to make homeschooling easier and from a Christian perspective. As the teacher, you log on to see the student’s coursework, assignments, grades and other data helpful for educators. The student logs on to complete the assignments. It’s run just as most online courses are, very straight forward and easy to scroll through.
I liked that everything my daughter needed to use was right in front of her. There were no breaks to go run and find something in another room, no other text books to check out from the library, no extra supplies. She simply sat at the computer and did her work.
She enjoyed the videos and listening portions the best. For a girl who hadn’t participated in an online course before, she quickly learned how to navigate through the website. (Additionally, the intro video on what each of the buttons did was extremely helpful. It saved us click-and-find time at the beginning.)
From the teacher’s perspective, it was handy to have all of her grades and class times documented on the website. If there was ever a need to prove her classwork, I could simply print the screenshot for reference. I enjoyed not having to plan her assignments or gathering materials. We could take the laptop to a new place and schoolwork went with us…a nice perk when your parents travel often!
The only thing I didn’t enjoy about the program was the large amount of reading. My daughter is a reluctant reader and she stresses when she sees a large block of text. This wouldn’t be a problem for a veracious reader by any means, just an observation for my particular student.
Overall, I love the way that Ignitia homeschool curriculum has everything available online on a website. I enjoy the ease of it all. It’s a nice change of pace from the traditional homeschool curriculum set up.
Ignitia is a great resource for Christian families to use!
I was given complimentary temporary access to Ignitia in exchange for my honest opinions.
