Every year, it may be harder to come up with fun Father’s Day activities for the family, but don’t fret! There are plenty of exciting and boisterous events and things to do, both at home or on the go to make Father’s Day special!
Movie Night (or Matinee!)
Almost any guy loves to see movies, especially the newest action or comic book film. Depending on the age of your kids, you may have to find a sitter, but going to the movies could be a whole family affair as well. You can easily go see a movie at any point in the afternoon or evening, depending on your plans for the day. If you’re feeling even more cozy, you can even watch a movie at home in the evening, and make your own popcorn and candy. You can even buy or make homemade versions of the father’s faves so it’s more specific.
Golf Trip
Going out to the range can be a fun and relaxing day for the father at home. You can reserve a round of golf for him and his buddies, by himself, or with the family too! If your children are a little on the younger side, you can even make it a mini-golf session!
If golf isn’t his thing, then any sport that catches his fancy can be fun afternoon treat! Whether it’s football, baseball, pickleball, soccer, you name it, you and your family can play a fun game of it either in the your own backyard or at your local park. You can even invite a few of his father buddies to make teams and add a little more competition to the game!
Water Parks
Nothing beats the heat of June better than a trip to a water park! There is plenty for everyone there, including rides for adults and younger kids. Have the father pick out a few rides that he can enjoy with each child, depending on their ages, to make it more fun for everyone and get some one-on-one time with as well (including waiting in those long lines!).
Capture the Dad!
Remember playing Capture the Flag when you were younger or when your kids were very young? Well, switch it around slightly and play Capture the Dad instead! To make it silly, you can have him wear something funny, like a clown wig or goofy hat, or something super bright or neon colored, and then have the kids chase him! It’s basically a game of Tag but with a little extra quirkiness!
Happy Father’s Day!
