Homeschooling your kids is a big investment. It’s an emotional investment, a time investment, and a financial investment. While there are some free curriculums available online, many parents choose to supplement their child’s education with other paid resources. And then there’s the cost of notebooks, computers, pencils, and other traditional school supplies. While homeschooling on a budget is totally possible, there are some items you may want to invest in. These will offer invaluable resources to your child and last for years.

A Sturdy Desk and Office Chair

Whether they’re on their computer, doing homework, or drawing, your child will spend a lot of time at a desk. Instead of having them work on the couch r at the kitchen table, invest in a high-quality desk with plenty of space to hold all their school supplies. An ergonomic office chair will also help them keep good posture while they work and avoid back or neck pain that can come from sitting at an awkward angle all day.

A Printer

With most of our lives online these days, you may feel like a printer isn’t worth the price anymore. This couldn’t be further from the truth! Your children still need to learn skills like handwriting, coloring inside the lines, and working out complex math problems when they get older. A printer will save you money and a ton of time that you would have spent driving to the library or print shop every few days.

A Whiteboard

Many children are visual learners, so a large whiteboard can be a game-changer when trying to explain concepts to your students. Work out math problems, draw science diagrams, or write out literary quotes for your child on the board as you need to. Whiteboards are also magnetic, so you can secure printouts and photos on the board as well.
